We are excited to welcome three new team members to SilviaTerra – Julia Osterman, Maria Travaille and Nina Campbell!

Julia Osterman is our Head of Business Development, focused on leading SilviaTerra’s sales and business development efforts to connect corporate buyers within the Fortune 500 and beyond with high-quality carbon credits through NCAPX. She also develops strategic partnerships that advance the SilviaTerra mission.

Julia has worked across the non-profit, public and private sectors to advance positive impact at the intersection of climate change, natural resource management, and finance including at The Nature Conservancy, the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, Blue Forest Conservation and New Forests. Her background is rooted in conservation, environmental science, and business. Julia has her MBA-MS in Environment and Resources with a focus on land use from Stanford Graduate School of Business. At Stanford, she co-led GSB’s Sustainable Business Club, co-founded the GSB’s business, climate and innovation summit and partnered with The Natural Capital Project and the InterAmerican Development Bank to advance investment in nature-based solutions. She has a BA in environmental studies with a focus on biodiversity conservation from Yale University.

Julia lives in San Diego, CA and loves to hike and sing, often at the same time.

Maria Travaille is our Content Manager and leads SilviaTerra’s content development, communication management, and conference engagement. She is focused on telling the story of how SilviaTerra has become a leader in harnessing the power of natural capital through precision forestry and is now shaping the future of forest carbon through NCAPX, our data-driven forest carbon marketplace.

Maria has an undergrad degree from the University of Washington and earned her MSc degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics, where her thesis work focused on the net-zero movement in American and European firms. Her research experience also includes working at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment for their climate adaptation and resilience team, including assisting on the ‘Business and Industry’ chapter of the Third UK Climate Change Risk Assessment. Prior to LSE, Maria worked in management consulting with clients in the digital marketing and market research space.

Maria lives in Los Angeles, CA and spends her free time hiking, playing volleyball, and enjoying the ocean.

Nina Campbell is the Executive Assistant to the CEO and works closely with CEO Zack Parisa to keep his work in alignment with SilviaTerra’s strategic goals and overall mission. She organizes workflow, sets objectives and priorities, and collaborates on special projects including partnerships, policy, and the supply side of the NCAPX platform.

Nina graduated from Yale with a BA in Ethics, Politics & Economics. She has work experience in sustainable agriculture and urban farming, and before joining SilviaTerra spent a year in residence at a Zen Buddhist training center.

Nina lives in Washington DC and is happiest when she is walking between trees, practicing yoga and meditation, or learning about compost.
