SilviaTerra is growing and our team has just expanded with two additional members  – Eric Ripley and Lillian Hogan!

Eric Ripley is our Certification Manager. Eric leads the development of data-driven methodologies and project structuring for forestry and other ecosystem service credits to ensure that SilviaTerra’s programs are of the highest scientific quality. In this role, he interfaces with carbon registries, validation and verification bodies, and project participants to guide the development and approval of novel methodologies, to ensure successful certification outcomes, and to align SilviaTerra’s NCAPX platform with relevant registries and other counterparties.

For the past decade and a half, Eric has worked in all major carbon markets and brings a background in carbon offset project development and advisory, validation and verification, and greenhouse gas reporting under multiple voluntary, state, and federal programs. Most recently, he was a Director at the American Carbon Registry (ACR) leading ACR’s work in the California cap and trade offset program as well as the majority of ACR’s strategic initiatives, methodology development, and client engagement in its voluntary offset program. Additionally, he is a representative on the International Organization for Standardization’s greenhouse gas working group responsible for the development and publication of the ISO 14064 series of greenhouse gas accounting and reporting standards and also serves on the UNECE’s expert committee for methane projects. He has assisted clients with offset project types including forestry, landfill gas, agricultural methane, coal mine methane, transportation initiatives, industrial gas destruction, biomass, energy efficiency, and fuel switching. His organizational greenhouse gas management experience includes the development, reporting, and verification of climate action plans and greenhouse gas inventories for programs such as The Climate Registry, the Carbon Disclosure Project, and various state and provincial GHG reporting programs.

Eric holds an MBA from Syracuse University, a Master’s in Environmental Science and Policy from the State University of New York-College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a Bachelor’s with a focus in Social and Environmental Studies from Indiana University. He resides in Bay Village, Ohio, with his family, where he can usually be found on the weekends coaching his kids’ sports teams, hiking, biking, or paddling around Lake Erie.

Lillian Hogan has joined the Landowner Success Team as a Customer Success Manager, building strong relationships with landowners to understand and advocate for their needs and ensuring their success with SilviaTerra’s Natural Capital Exchange Program. As someone who is passionate about making an impact while simultaneously developing new processes, we are excited to have her as one of the newest SilviaTerrans.

Prior to joining SilviaTerra, Lillian worked for an environmental company as a Senior Program Manager implementing sustainability-focused programs for customers.

Lillian is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. She currently resides in Indianapolis, IN. In her free time, you can find her outside with her dogs, Louie and Gizmo, tending to her garden, or at the barn with the horses.
