NCX is growing and our team has just expanded with six additional members – Kathryn Morse, Kyle Cubin, Julliane Crochet, Loren Myers, Lani Powell, and Paulo Quadri.
Kathryn Morse joins the NCX team as a Landowner Success Manager and brings four years of experience in customer success and account management. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in Ecology. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, and spends her free time going to farmer’s markets, doing yoga, and biking around the city.
Kyle Cubin joins NCX as the Finance Director to lead the FP&A accounting and treasury functions of the company and support the CFO in various strategic initiatives. He graduated from Wake Forest University with a BS in Finance and an MS in Accountancy. After beginning his career as a CPA at PwC, he has spent the last eight years working in the investment management industry as a fund controller and investment professional. Most recently, he was a Director in the Forestry & Agricultural group at a global asset management firm and served on the investment committee overseeing the ~$2 billion portfolio. He currently lives in Richmond, VA where he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, going for hikes along the James River, and in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Julliane Crochet joins NCX from part-time to full-time Executive Assistant to the COO. She graduated with a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University and went on to explore her interest in ecological restoration and environmental fieldwork at the Wetland and Aquatic Research Center with the US Geological Survey. There she worked with a team that focused on eco-physiological processes in coastal wetland forests and sometimes worked with a team of herpetologists on the side! She has since branched out from the swamps of South Louisiana to the coast of Southern California where she lives with her partner and pets. In her free time, she loves to practice yoga, bike, hike, bodysurf, and make art, especially pottery and oil painting. On the weekends, you can find her scuba diving the Channel Islands, working towards her goal of becoming a PADI Divemaster.
Loren Myers joins NCX as a Program Associate. He spent the past 5 years in management consulting working in a variety of different industries such as banking, insurance, government, and CPG. His work was quite broad in scope, helping organizations with problems as diverse as reforming an entire tax system to launching new products globally. Through his work and personal circumstances, he’s had the opportunity to travel and work in countries around the world but has settled (at least for now) in a small country town in New York where he lives on a horse ranch. Loren graduated from Columbia University with a double major in Mathematics and Italian Literature and prior to college served in the United States Marine Corps.
Lani Powell has joined the team as Landowner Marketing Manager. Prior to joining NCX, she traveled to over thirty countries, traveling solo through two continents and living in three, in order to gain new perspectives about the world. More recently, Lani spent 8 years in Uruguay where she co-founded the company BioTerra, a pioneer in the LATAM waste management industry, dedicated to recycling and manufacturing soil substrates/fertilizers for organic agriculture. At BioTerra she led all branding and marketing efforts, transforming the company into a respected voice in the region. Lani studied at San Francisco State University and Bristol University in the United Kingdom and graduated with a BA in Economics. She is excited to use her passion for ESG and her experience in marketing to generate awareness of NCX. Lani looks forward to helping landowners and large corporations participate in a carbon marketplace that helps rapidly reduce carbon emissions, on a large scale. Lani currently lives in Berkeley, California, where she was born and raised. In her spare time, she enjoys being active in the great outdoors (biking, backpacking, climbing mountains, skiing & more) and cooking/eating yummy food.
Paulo Quadri joins the NCX team as the Latin America Project Manager. A native of Mexico City, Paulo graduated from Universidad de las Americas Puebla with a BA in Communication Science, and he holds an MEM from the Yale School of the Environment and a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz. Previously, he worked for the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas of Mexico (CONANP) as a specialist in climate adaptation and community development projects. Most recently he was the Conservation Director of a science-based non-profit working across the Arizona-Sonora borderlands. He has published research about the impacts of protected areas on local poverty, the responses of high-elevation tropical conifers to climate change, and he co-authored a book on land tenure and conservation policy in Mexico. He currently lives in Tucson, AZ where he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, venturing together as often as possible to the unique forests of the Sky Islands of southern Arizona. Paulo is also an avid soccer player.
