SilviaTerra is growing and our team has just expanded with one additional member  – Jeff Wright!

Jeff Wright is our Landowner Key Accounts, Manager. Jeff manages REIT and TIMO landowners in the NCAPX program, initially in the South East, United States but expanding in 2021 to the rest of the U.S. and then he takes over the world! If you are a landowner interested in selling forest carbon, contact Jeff at ncapx@silviaterra.com.

Jeff has a DPhil (Doctor of Philosophy) from the University of Oxford in Tropical Forestry following earlier degrees in forest science from Clemson University and Texas A&M University. Jeff has worked in the US for Rayonier and ArborGen. He has worked in more than 50 countries with in-country multi-year work experiences in the UK, South Africa, Colombia and Indonesia. Jeff worked for Stora Enso with responsibility for their Eucalyptus programs in Laos, China, Brazil and Uruguay. The most recent gig, Araya Bumi Indonesia, East Kalimantan, Borneo, he was managing 266,000ha of rain forest of which 60,000ha was in plantations of Acacia or Eucalyptus. That post came with speed boats and a helicopter. Weeeeee.

Jeff is Adjunct Faculty, Department of Biomaterials, North Carolina State University and supervises students at MS and PhD levels in aspects of wood utilization and sustainable forestry. He has supervised other graduate students at universities in the US, UK, South Africa, Colombia and Australia.

Jeff has a home in Boone, North Carolina on five acres of hardwood forest that incorporate two distinct ecosystems. He enjoys kayaking the New River, hiking the Linville gorge and walking his Bouvier des Flanders, Miles. Actually that is a mis-print as Miles walks Jeff most days.
