Mapbox provides precise location data and powerful developer tools to change the way we navigate the world. Through a partnership with NCX, they are also able to navigate a portion of their journey to net-zero.

Sustainability at Mapbox
Mapbox is using NCX credits towards 2019 and 2020 emissions, in line with their commitment of net-zero operations for the past six years. NCX credits are part of a portfolio approach that includes both forest carbon and engineered solutions.
The NCX data driven approach
Mapbox believes forests are critical for addressing climate impact and provide additional benefits for wildlife habitat and opportunities for sustainable use by communities. The data-driven approach that NCX brings to forest carbon was critical to addressing concerns around forestry-based carbon offset projects related to additionality and durability.
“After speaking with leaders in carbon forestry about their use of spatial data and technology, we agree that greater transparency is essential and support initiatives that bring new methodologies to the effort.”
– Mikél Maron, Community Team, Mapbox
Co-Benefits: Habitats supported
Mapbox investments in forests across America have also created impact for species like the coastal marten, Canada lynx, and snowshoe hare. Learn more about wildlife habitat co-benefits in the impact dashboard.
