NCX for Buyers
Verified carbon credits for companies committed to investing in local communities, channel partners seeking quality offsets, and multinationals pursuing net-zero goals.
4 Simple Steps
Work with an NCX sales rep to ask questions, clarify your procurement needs, and prepare for the next enrollment cycle.
NCX assesses each property’s capacity for carbon sequestration. Companies confirm their commitments.
NCX matches up landowners and net-zero leaders every quarter. During the contracted year, landowners defer timber harvests.
NCX staff deliver verified carbon credits to our net-zero leaders.
- Acres of healthy habitat: 295,665
- Acres of high-quality habitat: 36,156
Your participation supports wildlife that call forests home, such as the White-tailed Deer. The growth of large oaks, and acorns are an important food source for these Deer.
In northern regions, enrolled acres of pine and spruce stands provide them winter refuge. In warmer seasons, these forests offer protection against the transmission of lyme disease. Deer are a “reservoir species” for the carriers of this disease, black-legged ticks, which prefer forest edges to thickets. Reducing the fragmentation of deer habitat can reduce the prevalence of lyme disease.
The McDaniel Family
- Location of Property: Mississippi
- Acres in NCX: 1,280
The McDaniel family has been in the forestry business since the 1970s.They decided to enroll with NCX for two reasons: to team up with net-zero leaders, and to better preserve the wooded sections of their property.
Their forest provides a refuge from the hassles of everyday life. Via harvest deferral, our exchange also allows them to preserve wildlife habitat for their fellow creatures of the forest, including white-tailed deer.
- Tons of carbon offsets sold: 35,808
- Private foresters with < 400 acres: 50%
Alabama is home to long leaf pine, tulip poplar, and bald cypress trees—as well as foresters eager to team up with net-zero leaders.
For this fulfillment, NCX inked agreements with three timber investment management organizations, two dozen private landowners, and one municipal forester. Landowners from ten states joined NCX for our inaugural fulfillment cycle. The harvest deferrals by landowners and foresters in AL, constitute more than 25% of the carbon offsets secured.
